I have fought many Battles in my life. I have won some and lost MANY. As far back as I can remember I have had a Warrior mentality. I remember thinking as a very young girl, “I’m not going to let you win Devil!” That mentality alone does not insure Victory, however. In times of defeat, I have given place to the Enemy and chosen to believe the lies he whispered in my ears. So, you see, when I write about this, it is coming from personal experience! The reality is that I am not a perfect Warrior – none of us are. That does not mean that I give up and “lay everything at the Lord’s feet. NO! I have learned that I must do MY PART and that the worst thing EVER is to give into WILLFUL and HABITUAL SIN. Yes, I’ve been there. I am called, according to Luke 22:31-34, to strengthen my brethren. That is why “The Battle Is REAL and I am here!
My experience bears out that when I lose a Battle, often times, God allows me to fight THAT SAME BATTLE over and over until it is won . . . until I allow His Word to dictate my response to the Enemy (NOT MY FEELINGS) . . . until I decide to follow God’s direction (not go off on my own path) . . . until my only focus is Jesus and His Word! That is VICTORY.
“VICTORIES ARE NOT WON WITH/BY FEELINGS.”
Emotions are not part of Spiritual Weaponry. Satan knows when we are vulnerable and most susceptible to “buy into” his lies. Again, it is my experience that happens when I am emotionally spent. He uses our emotions as a weapon against us. This is so true Warriors! I know – I have lived it! We must not give in to our emotions/feelings! We must rely ONLY on God and His Word to be victorious, because our feelings change from one moment to the next.
Through our Captain’s mercy and grace, God reveals His Truth through His Word. God’s Word is total, complete TRUTH. Please understand; many of my posts come from a personal place and I share them with all of you to encourage, to instruct, and to strengthen you. The Body of Christ/Army of the Lord must learn to be cohesive and strong . . . SINGLE MINDED. As God’s Army we have lost that insight and, accordingly, WE ALL LIKE SHEEP HAVE LOST OUR WAY. We have lost the fire of the Holy Spirit. We have been deceived into thinking we can live every day without actively utilizing our MINDS and ACTIONS for the Kingdom of God.
KNOW THIS: We are far more than emotional cupcakes and a Believer’s life is not a “cake walk.”
The Enemy’s attacks are relentless—day-in and day-out. LIES after LIES are put before each of us every day through television, social media, friends, etc. What goes in; stays in and is even “replayed.” That is a horrifying thought, don’t you think? The constant influx of these lies creates a STRONGHOLD in our MINDS. Soon, we start to believe good is evil and evil is good, even as Christians. This is what God says about that:
Isaiah 5:20-24 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.”
It’s like the Cherokee proverb: “There’s a Battle of two wolves inside us all. One is Evil and the other is good. Which wolf will win? The one you feed.” Instead of training and focusing our minds on God’s Truth, our mind repeats and remembers the lies. These lies soon become part of our belief system without your realizing it. The Enemy uses these lies to wear us down to take us captive—away from the Truth.
What is the answer? The answer is not complicated, but it won’t “feel” palatable. Instead of feeding your mind and emotions with lies from the Enemy, fill it with God’s Word. What a concept!
Be determine (action of your mind) to spend more time reading, listening, and hearing and obeying God’s Word than anything else. Fill your mind with the Truth of God’s Word. When a glass is full there’s no room for ANYTHING else. FILL your mind with God’s Word. Victory is won actively speaking and obeying God’s Word. We can’t speak or obey it if we don’t know it people!
We must put God’s Word into ACTION in your life. We choose to either live our Christian life passively or actively. There is no middle-ground. Satan wants you to believe there IS middle ground. Paul wrote in Philippians 4:9, “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, DO: and [implied: IF YOU DO] the God of peace shall be with you.” “DO” is action.
Will you choose to spend more time in God’s Word so you are equipped to be victorious in the Battles of the day? Take time away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life to consider making this change. What comes to mind? How are you feeling about the change? Ah – those feelings again. All the excuses that come are an attack from the Enemy and, especially, “I don’t FEEL like it.” Satan does not want you to win. Remember:
“Feelings have no place on the Battlefield. VICTORY is all about TRUTH (God's truth).”
Make a decision to live actively for God. Ask Him to forgive you for taking His love and sacrifice for granted. Vow to live each day actively training and fighting the Enemy to be victorious in Battle! JUST DO IT!
