FOR RESTORATION:
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous”
1 John 2:1.
RESTORATION EXPLAINED – “IN DEPTH”
Some people have seen my STEPS TO RESTORATION many times on Facebook. Believe this or not, someone approached me with “concerns” about it, stating he was “concerned” that it was “too much” for baby Christians to handle . . . speaking of the "refusing to sin" part.
I kid you not. PLEASE explain to me which part of the STEPS FOR RESTORATION listed below is difficult for a baby Christian. Remember, that each new Believer just went through pretty much this very same process. His main “concern” (I honestly want to run when I hear that word) was the part about “refusing to sin.” DROP MIC!!! Isn’t that what “making Jesus Lord of our life means?” Dying to self and our own desires and being submissive/obedient to God’s Word?
RED FLAG: His “concern” TELLS ME, he is not the only one who has a problem with “REFUSING TO SIN.” Why do we fight it so much Warriors? It will keep us away from all kinds of trouble in our life – but mainly when we choose to be entangled in WILLFUL and HABITUAL SIN demons can have their “way with us.” Seriously. For YEARS I questioned why my life wasn’t VICTORIOUS. I wondered what I was doing wrong. I was a Christian, so what was wrong? All I heard, like many of you—which is what this guy obviously thinks: “You are a Christian now. Jesus is in control. He will take care of it. He will fight your battles. He will give you strength. There’s nothing to worry when you sin. You are sorry about it, aren’t you?” Do you see what’s missing here??
What is missing is "my part in staying in right relationship with the Lord!" Yes, I was saved, but I didn’t understand how a sin here and sin soon becomes a “habitual thing.” Well, I’m here to tell you that IT DOES and IT WILL. I certainly was never told about the demonic consequences of sin. We must understand how important being obedient is. NO, THE ENEMY DOES NOT “HAVE” TO WIN! If we OBEY God’s Word and deal with Satan and every demon that approaches us as God instructs, I guarantee you that you will be !!!
The problem comes when pastors and teachers placate sin. You do not placate SIN. You don’t do it with baby Christians and you most certainly don’t do it with “mature” Christians. NEVER. As soon as you are convicted of a sin, REPENT OF IT—RENOUNCE IT—RECLAIM AUTHORITY OVER IT—AND REFUSE TO DO IT AGAIN. That’s it!

Oh, and by the way, there are those who like to quote:“Pray that you enter not into temptation.” THIS IS IMPORTANT: Praying is done BEFORE the temptation comes . . . NOT AFTER. If you are already being tempted, prayer won't deliver you from it. Read the scripture carefully. It says “pray that you “ENTER NOT” into temptation. So, prayer is like a "pre-temptation" tool. If you are FACED WITH TEMPTATION – YOU ARE SMACK DAB RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT -- you’ve already “entered into it.” HERE’S HOW GOD TELLS US TO HANDLE TEMPTATION:
James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
Romans 13:14 “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
Psalm 119:11 “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
And, let’s not forget Jesus’ example: Matthew 4:1-11 (Jesus tempted in the wilderness) “Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward and hungered. 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.”
If you follow in obedience the scriptures above you WILL NOT FAIL:
1) Submit to God (in obedience) – [act of your will]
2) Resist temptation (don’t give into it) – [act of your will]
3) Do not make provision that allow you to sin – [act of your will]
4) Look for a way of escape (God does not lie—there is always that option—YOU MUST TAKE IT) – [act of your will]
5) QUOTE APPLICABLE SCRIPTURE OUT LOUD [act of your will] and be obedient [act of your will] to it.
Pastors and teachers (and maybe even YOU) are missing: NOT SINNING IS AN ACT OF OUR WILL. PERIOD. PARAGRAPH.
I find it totally amazing that people believe there’s something wrong with anyone who quotes these scriptures and teaches people that they don’t have to sin. If you don’t believe God’s Word and the TRUTH of it, IN EVERY INSTANCE, it’s time for a self-check to see if you are even in the FAITH.
Yes, none of us are “without sin” and if we say we are without sin “we are a liar.” A Believer will fall into sin now and again, but when it happens, we immediately confess and repent of it. We don’t wallow in it and KEEP ON DOING IT! What so many pastors and teachers are teaching today would make anyone KEEP SINNING. I mean, why not?!
You don’t want demons in your life people! If you continue IN SIN, that is what you are going to have. Period. You don’t believe me? Then why are so many of you counseling with psychologists and psychiatrists, taking depression medication and other prescribed medications, having thoughts about suicide, having marital problems, involved in adulterous relationships, dealing with every kind of addiction (including PORN), why are you having financial trouble, why are you sick? I’ll tell you. WILLFUL, HABITUAL SIN. And you do need deliverance from the demons that have taken advantage of the LEGAL RIGHT you have given them. THEY ARE THERE.
Let me break down RESTORATION FOR YOU, right here . . . right now:
1) RECOGNIZE/acknowledge/admit your sin (1 John 1:9; Proverbs 28:13; Psalm 32:5; Leviticus 5:5);
2) REPENT of your sin both to God and others (Acts 3:19);
3) RENOUNCE the sin as dead works [dead works are such works as deserve death: “dead in trespasses, dead in sins, dead by sentence of the law” – because of breaking the law] (Hebrews 6:1-2; Romans 6:23; 1 John 3:4);
4) RECLAIM authority through Jesus' Blood (Matthew 26:28; Ephesians 1:7; Ephesians 2:13; Leviticus 17:11); and
5) RESIST the sin (James 4:7) and REFUSE to do it again!
Praise God for His great mercy and loving kindness and most of all His forgiveness:
Psalm 71:20-22 “Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.21 Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side. 22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.”
