How many times have you read this idiom heard it from someone? What exactly does it mean?

Letting go in the spiritual sense originated from 1 Corinthians 15:31-34:

1 Corinthians 15:31-34 (KJV) "31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die. 33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame."

This Scripture passage refers to giving God control to operate and move through and in you, to no longer operate/give in to selfish desires. This scripture commands us to die DAILY. Obviously, it is impossible to literally die every day. It means to die to SELF – to recon one’s self as being dead, so that your fleshly desires no longer dictate your choices . . . to give God control . . . TO NOT SIN. Verse 34 is the pivotal verse: “Awake to righteousness and do not sin.” SELF is what got Satan in trouble to begin with. Read Isaiah 14:12-15 and see how many times you find “I WILL.”

We are new creations in Christ, but we still have our old nature and free will to contend with every day. Again, it is important not to sin to keep spiritual doors shut which would otherwise allow the Enemy and his minions access to you in order to wreak havoc in your life.

Sadly, there are those Christians who erroneously believe that “let go and let God” means to let go/forget your attempts of trying to live holy and that God Himself will work it all out. DECEPTION INDICATED! Someone . . . anyone please supply scripture that supports any of that thought! This is the Enemy twisting an originally scriptural idiom into a PURE EVIL. We know that without Christ we can do nothing. As Christians, it is not a matter of whether we have Christ, but what we will “do” with Christ. “Do” is an action verb, right? This particular “do” is not an action which will be performed by God, but by YOU. You are responsible to do your part. Dying to self is one of those. Your old nature (selfish will) is with you until you die.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”

YOU must “take EVERY thought captive.” What do enemies do with captives? Interrogate? Take every (that’s what scripture says) thought and interrogate yourself to figure out whether the thought lines up with God’s Word or not. Taking your thoughts captive is not something that God is going to do for you. You must make a choice to refuse every wrong thought (which occurs where? – in the Battlefield of your mind) and (you) revise it to bring it into alignment/ agreement with God’s Word.

Too many Christians choose what I call “the easy way out” (a/k/a choosing to believe and hold fast to Satan’s lies and deceit instead of God’s Word)! That’s laying your weapons down as you walk onto the Battlefield Warriors!

These “easy way outers” believe and also try to convince other Christians’ erroneous statements like:

“I don’t have to do anything because God will fight all my battles”

“I don’t have to fight the Enemy because Jesus has already won the victory”

“I don’t have to worry about sin and obedience, because I live under grace.”

No scripture says any of that. Someone . . . anyone please give me book, chapter and verse in the Bible . . . WHERE? Just because you read a “Christian meme” somewhere (and allow the Enemy to interpret it for you) doesn’t mean it is God’s truth. The ONLY place you will find God’s truth is in the BIBLE.

The Enemy comes only to “make your life easier?” . . . “keep your significant other happy?”” . . . “make you prosperous?” . . . “make you healthy?” NO. The Enemy ONLY COMES to steal, kill and destroy – no other reason – only for the purpose of YOUR destruction!

Beloved Warriors, don’t get caught with your pants down around your ankles on the Battlefield, because the Enemy won’t wait until you get it together before he attacks. Read, study and memorize God’s Word EVERY DAY. If you have believed the Enemy’s lies and have neglected God’s Word, there is a remedy. “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” 1 John 2:1.  Restoration is found in Him.  Follow these steps:

1) RECOGNIZE (admit) the sin;

2) Take responsibility by REPENTING for the action to God and others;

3) RENOUNCE the sin as dead works;

4) REMOVE the stronghold/evil spirit by commanding it leave in Jesus' Name and by the

    authority you have through Jesus' Blood; and
